It started with questions.
Like many women, I went through a period of time when I knew something wasn’t right.
From the outside, I probably seemed fine. I was working, meeting responsibilities, and getting through my days. But my energy had changed. I wasn’t sleeping well. My motivation had disappeared, and I didn’t feel like myself.
What made the experience especially interesting was that health wasn’t new territory for me. I had a longstanding background in health education and natural health, had spent decades researching and writing about health, and had written an award-winning book rooted in extensive health research. I knew enough to keep asking questions.
So I did. I looked more closely at nutrition, lab testing, sleep, stress, lifestyle, personal history, and other factors that might be contributing to how I felt. There wasn’t one dramatic answer or magic solution. There was information to sort through, connections to make, changes to try, and time to see what actually made a difference.
That experience eventually led me to pursue additional training in health and wellness coaching and integrative and functional nutrition.

Why the Seed of Life?
The Seed of Life has long symbolized growth, connection, and patterns found throughout nature. That’s why I chose it for my logo. It also reflects the way I think about health. Nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, relationships, environment, behavior, and personal history don’t exist in separate boxes. They can affect one another in ways that aren’t always obvious at first.
Looking at the whole doesn’t mean trying to change everything at once. It means being willing to look broadly, ask questions, notice patterns, and then decide what deserves attention. That curiosity has shaped much of my life and work, from researching a health question to coaching someone through change, developing a communications strategy, or preparing something I want an audience to remember.
